Social Action

Social Action Committee

            The Social Action Committee plans and develops  programs to keep with the needs of the community and the objectives of the Social Action Commission of Grand Chapter.  The goals of Social Action are:

  • To develop a greater sense of appreciation of our potiental for influence in the community.
  • To develop knowledge of the current local and national issues so within the chapter
  • To encourage active participation in political activity
  • To influence the enactement of legislation on a local and national level or a particular point of interest to women and the African American Community
  • To participate on a volunteer and leadership level in civic and other organizations
  • To encourage increased appointment of African American Women in policy making positions in government, locally and nationally

        The Phoenix Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter sponsors, and supports the following events:

  • Kids Voting AZ
  • Delta Days at the State Capitol
  • Delta Days at the Nation's Capitol
  • Voter Registration Drives
  • Education of the Chapter and Community on Local Voting Initatives
  • Meet the Candidates
  • Presentations of Local Issues that will be on the Ballot
  • Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Walk in Phoenix
