Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a public service sorority which was founded in 1913 by 22 students at Howard University, in Washington, DC. Our founders envisioned an organization committed to serious endeavor and community service. Phoenix Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter awards scholarships to student applicants entering college or continuing their academic programs. Students must meet both academic and community service requirements.
The Phoenix Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, is committed to serving the Phoenix and the Maricopa County Community. As one of our major public service programs, we have established scholarships to enable qualified applicants to continue their education. Fundraising through events and charitable donations help to support our programs and initiatives.
The Delta Research and Educational Foundation (DREF) provides some of the funding for Delta Sigma Theta Scholarship programs. It is a charity founded by the sorority to encourage educational development and research initiatives.
